Back to Brazil!

Photobucket
Do you remember Tyler's cute friend Leonardo? Well he and his family moved back to Brazil recently.  We got together with their family a few days before they moved. I love how Tyler and Leo act like no time has gone by since they last played together.

It was Leo's brother Lucas' birthday so we decided to meet at Chucky Cheese.
(Chucky Cheese is much more fun if you pretend germs don't exist....just so you know)

I love Tyler's face in this picture... doesn't it just say "hurry and take this stupid picture so that I can go play"
Actually... no. It doesn't because Tyler doesn't say stupid. In fact if you say the word in his range of hearing, he will tell you that stupid is not a nice word.

It was sad to see these wonderful friends go, but we are so happy for them.
We might just have to plan a trip to Brazil....

Yesterday

Today sucked.
Sucked, I tell you.
But yesterday was splendid.
So should we talk about yesterday instead?
Yes I think we shall.

Yesterday:

  • My kids slept in.
  • I went with my Mom and got fabric for baby girl's bedding.
  • I had lunch with my mom and brother, Chris. You can't go wrong with Village Baker sandwiches.
  • Jax took a nap at my Mom's, even after sleeping in!
  • I watched Ty blow bubbles at my parents dog for a long time. Do all dogs try and eat the bubbles?
  • I had a really fun family photo session downtown.
  • I went to the Cheesecake factory with Holly and Jen for dinner.
  • I ordered dessert. It's wrong not to order cheesecake at the cheesecake factory, am I right?
  • I finished off the night right, with a quick trip to Target. I have been going through Target withdrawals.
And if all that wasn't splendid enough, my Mom took this picture before we left for dinner:

We are all knocked up.
We are all having girls.
Holly and Jen even have the same due date (only 6 weeks after mine).
Isn't that special?

Why we chose the big yellow van as a background, I'll never know.
Maybe it was the only thing big enough....

Green Day

Yellow Day and Red Day were so much fun,
we didn't see any point in stopping there.
So Green Day was next....

Our Green Day started off with green eggs (no ham... my kids don't like ham) and green apples. Let's be honest, the eggs look gross, but Jax chowed them down.

Then we made our way over to the Ford's for some Green Day fun...

Jesse and his mom, Melissa, came over to join in the green day festivities.
Stephanie read the boys Green eggs and ham.

And then we sent the boys on a treasure hunt Stephanie had put together.

They found clues that led them to green treasure.

Like green suckers.
And green star glasses.

Then we played with Jesse's green turtle.

Jaxen and Ollie..
Isn't he being sweet?
Don't be fooled.
Right after I took this picture, he tried to step on Ollie's head.

They painted alligator toys.
Green, of course.

While Jaxen watched from a distance...
Last time I let Jax paint he sampled some paint.
Then Stephanie provided us all with a delicious green lunch.
She even had lettuce wraps for the adults.

The day would not have been complete without green jello....

Creed thought the green cake was fantastic.

After lunch, the boys put on green frankenstein masks and danced to the Monster Mash song.

After they were all danced out, we went outside to play with our green day treasures.

We finished off the night with green chili enchiladas and lots of green side dishes.

Thanks for planning such a fun day, Steph!

What should the next color day be...?

Red Day

Red is Tyler's most favorite color.
It has been since he could show a preference.
So, after Yellow Day, he asked nearly every day when Red Day would be.
So last week, we celebrated Red Day.....

We ate Red food for breakfast.

Then we got dressed in our favorite Red clothes and went outside to play.
Yes, I know.
Tyler is ridiculously awesome.

Of course Tyler's friend, Creed, wouldn't miss out on such a joyous holiday.

Jaxen preferred to spray himself...

It took me many attempts to get a picture of my boys in their Red Day attire.

We went to lunch at Red Robin.
Then we went over to the party store to pick up some balloons and some Red toys.

Then Tyler and I whipped up some red cupcakes.

While the cupcakes cooked we went outside so that Ty and Creed could do some serious Red Day painting.

While their artwork dried (and the cupcakes cooled), the kids played in the water.

And more friends joined us.

Team work... Ty is even holding Jaxen's binky for him...

After eating red popsicles,
we went inside to decorate our red cupcakes.

They both looked very serious about icing their cupcakes.

Jaxen was more serious about eating his.

For dinner we attempted Red pancakes...
although they looked more pink or peach.

Ty wouldn't eat them.
He said he only ate brown pancakes...
Even on Red Day.
