After a busy week full of Dr. Suess activities, errands, and appointments, we had an equally busy weekend. We started it out by running errands and going out to dinner Friday night.
Then Saturday morning,we loaded into the car and went to visit with my Grandpa. It was his birthday so we brought him lunch and my Mom brought a cake. The man is a big fan of the Baconator from Wendy's.
I forgot my camera so these pictures were captured with David's camera.
Thank you sir.
Contrary to what this picture shows, Madee really likes my Grandpa. I think my Dad startled her right when we took this picture, but I love her face.
See? They are friends.
A random little girl showed up and started playing with Madee.
She saw the cake and decided to stay.
It was quite a while before we figured out she was the receptionist's daughter.
But still.... who does that?
(Mom, I know hat you're thinking... I would have done that)
My grandpa was bewildered by the extra guest. I think he was worried that he was supposed to know who she was.
After leaving my Grandpa's car center (he came home yesterday, by the way) I went to my friend, Tara's, baby shower. It was so good to see her and her cute pregnant belly.
Then I went back to my parents where my little family, and all my siblings were having a pizza party. It was nice to just relax and chat and eat pizza. We stayed way too late, but it was fun.
Sunday after church we all had a delightful Sunday nap and followed it up with a pot roast (a different recipe.. it was okay).
We made chocolate chip cookies (thank you pinterest).
And we spent the rest of the evening soaking up the last few rays of sunshine.
I can't wait until this is all grass.
Yes that's a bear against the house.
My boys, on the other hand, don't mind the dirt one bit.
Sunday night, Jaxen left all of his binky's out for the "Binky Fairy" to come and collect them.
She didn't disappoint. I realize that this is a larger gift than the Binky Fairy usually leaves, but she knew how attached Jaxen was to his binky's and knew whatever she exchanged them for would have to be a big deal. He let go of his binky's much easier than we thought he would.
He takes a little longer going to sleep at night, and he still asks for one occasionally, but he knows they are gone. FOREVER.
